Watching all your leaves turn all their pretty colors
Looking down at my feet
I walk down your driveway to discover

Figured I lose this scene and go find another
Cruise the strip and go grab a bite
I see I purple backdrop made of color
Well, I guess thats what you get when you're up with the stars at night
When your heart is broke and you lost your fight
But, I tell ya ever since you been gone I've been doin alright

You took my leather jacket and said go get another
Well, the jacket wasn't mine it was yours, anyway it was too tight
You have a way of making everything you touch bleed and suffer
I wasn't meant for you girl, ya, we were never right
My heart didn't click with yours, you didn't dream at night
My poetry was grammatically incorrect and poetically right
The clothes in my closet weren't color coordinated to your sight
But, I tell ya ever since you been gone I've been doin alright

Just the other day I saw you with another
Well, I can still remember the day you told me you were only mine
Well, people come and go I have discovered
And to be waiting in the line for the show, well that ain't right
I push my ejection button and I'll be out of your life

I saw your freakshow friend down by the water
She gave me a once look over and said man you lookin alright
Don't take smoke signal communication to discover
I was the best part of the painting you were merely the light
My delicate way of creativity was out of sight
An alien sent to the Earth from the stars at night
To completely blow your mind and set your world on fire
BUt, I tell ya ever since you been gone I've been doin alright
